Executive Director for Assessment & Evaluation
Buffy Roberts is a credentialed Transformational Leader with over twenty-five years of experience spanning across K-12 instructional services, assessment, evaluation, and accountability including classroom instructor, school leadership, and district leadership within the Learning Services Division of two of the largest South Carolina school districts. Buffy brings diverse experience across all levels of school system leadership to her work.
As Executive Director of Assessment, Evaluation, and Accountability, she currently leads work in assessment, program evaluation, federal and state accountability, related curriculum and instruction areas, and college and career readiness initiatives at the school and district level.
Ms. Roberts has also coordinated and facilitated work within gifted and talented programming, AdvancEd Accreditation, personalized learning, full-time and supplemental virtual school and program school options, including those within her role as district director of AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination). She also works with school and district leaders on special projects related to closing opportunity gaps for students across a diverse system and increasing college and career readiness.
Buffy is active in organizations at the state and national level as well, such as memberships within the College Board Academic Assembly and ACT Council. Mrs. Roberts currently holds a Bachelor of Arts, Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction, Master of Science in Educational Leadership, National Board Certification, Read2Succeed Literacy Endorsement, Advanced Placement Certification, Gifted and Talented Endorsement and Transformational Leader Endorsement.
In her spare time she enjoys reading, spending time with family and friends, and being on the waterways of South Carolina’s Low Country with her husband Ryan and daughter Madison in their family’s boat.
