Cynthia Ambrose

Cynthia Ambrose has experience as a teacher, assistant principal, and principal and has formerly served as a Chief Academic Officer, Assistant Superintendent, and Deputy Superintendent in large districts in Virginia and South Carolina.

Monica Tudder graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Child Development and Social Work from Florida State University and then enrolled in The Citadel where she earned a Master’s Degree in Psychology and an Ed.S. in School Psychology. She has also earned a Master’s in Secondary School Administration and Leadership from the University of South Carolina and is currently working on her dissertation to complete her Ph.D. in Special Education Administration from the University of South Carolina.

Monica worked as a School Psychologist I in Clarendon 3 and at MUSC in Developmental Pediatrics. She then served Dorchester District 4 as a School Psychologist II and became the Director of Exceptional Children in Dorchester District 4 in 2004, which is the position she currently holds.

In DD4, Monica chairs the COVID Response Team. She coordinates the LowCountry Special Education Consortium and mentors new special education directors. She also previously served as President of the SC Chapter of CASE.

Monica is passionate about equity for all students and about increasing postsecondary outcomes for students with disabilities through innovative programs, family involvement, and access to high-quality instructional programming.
