K – 12 Technical Assistance
Low Country Virtual provides technical assistance and support to the network districts through a variety of strategies detailed below. Consortium staff are also available to provide assistance and support as districts collaborate and work on common goals pertaining to virtual learning.
9 – 12 Supplemental
Another focus of the districts in our network is to collaborate and coordinate on the planning, writing, and implementation of supplemental courses to enhance the high school program of study. Our partnership allows districts to collaborate to build a robust course catalog that can be shared across districts. K-8 Program
For the 2021-2022 school year, multiple school districts are intentionally coordinating efforts to offer a shared-services, full-time virtual program option for K-8 students. While these numbers are not likely to be large in all of the individual districts, by coordinating our efforts we will be able to provide a high-quality online option for students in our network.
Celeste Bearden
Celeste Bearden has worked in education for over 20 years in both the public and private sectors. She has served as a School Counselor, Computer Science/Technology teacher, and currently is the Charleston County School District's Online Learning Coordinator and Administrator in the district's Central Virtual Academy. Students continually inspire Ms. Bearden. She is passionate about assisting with their post-secondary
Greg Harrison
Dr. Greg Harrison currently serves as the Virtual Academy Director for Dorchester School District Two, which is currently serving over eight thousdand students virtually. Harrison also serves as an Adjunct Professor in the Zucker School of Education at The Citadel. He earned his Ed.D. from NorthCentral University, MA in Educational Administration from The Citadel, MAT in Secondary Education from Charleston Southern U
